What It Is:
A hands-on Claim–Evidence–Reasoning (CER) sorting worksheet where students read statements and categorize them into the correct column: Claim, Evidence, or Reasoning. Includes real science examples such as circuits, melting ice, and speed of cars to help students practice scientific thinking.
Why Use It:
This worksheet strengthens students’ ability to distinguish between a scientific claim, the evidence that supports it, and the reasoning that explains why the evidence makes sense. It develops critical thinking, NGSS-aligned writing skills, and a deeper understanding of scientific explanations.
How to Use It:
• Cut out each statement card.
• Read each statement carefully.
