Description
What It Is:
This is a character trait analysis worksheet. It prompts students to identify a character, choose a character trait from a provided list (including adventurous, brave, curious, friendly, generous, honest, lazy, mean, nice, respectful, selfish, shy, sneaky, thoughtful, trustworthy, and wild), and then provide three pieces of text evidence to support their chosen trait. There are boxes for the character's name, the identified trait, and the text evidence.
Grade Level Suitability:
This worksheet is suitable for grades 3-6. It requires reading comprehension skills to identify character traits and find supporting evidence in a text. The list of character traits provides a good vocabulary base for this age range.
Why Use It:
This worksheet helps students develop reading comprehension, critical thinking, and analytical skills. It encourages students to analyze characters in a text and provide evidence to support their interpretations, fostering a deeper understanding of character development and plot.
How to Use It:
First, have students read a story or passage. Then, ask them to choose a character from the story and write the character's name in the 'Character' box. Next, they should identify a character trait from the provided list that describes the character and write it in the 'Character Trait Identified' box. Finally, they should find three pieces of text evidence that support the chosen trait and write each piece of evidence in the corresponding 'Text Evidence' box.
Target Users:
This worksheet is ideal for elementary and middle school students who are learning about character analysis and reading comprehension. It can be used in a classroom setting or as a homework assignment. Students who need extra support with identifying character traits and finding text evidence will also benefit from this worksheet.
