Information
Description
What It Is:
This is a math worksheet focusing on multiplication and division relationships. It presents sets of four numbers and asks the student to identify the number that doesn't belong. The student must explain why a number doesn't belong, write a related multiplication fact, its inverse operation, and draw a picture to show the relationship. The first problem, using the numbers 16, 6, 18, and 3, is completed as an example. The worksheet has two additional problems with blank spaces for the student to fill in.
Grade Level Suitability:
This worksheet is suitable for grades 3-4. It requires students to understand basic multiplication and division facts, identify number relationships, and explain their reasoning. The drawing component adds a visual element appropriate for this age range.
Why Use It:
This worksheet reinforces the connection between multiplication and division. It encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills by requiring students to analyze number relationships and justify their answers. The drawing component helps to visualize the concepts.
How to Use It:
First, circle the number that does not belong in the set. Then, write an explanation of why that number doesn't fit with the other three. Next, create a multiplication fact using the remaining three numbers. Write the corresponding division fact (the inverse operation). Finally, draw a picture to illustrate the relationship between the numbers.
Target Users:
This worksheet is ideal for elementary school students in grades 3-4 who are learning about multiplication and division. It can be used for classroom practice, homework assignments, or as a supplemental resource for students who need extra support in understanding number relationships.
