Information
Description
What It Is:
This is a 'Hello Summer' themed calling mat for a bingo game. The mat features 24 squares, each containing a different summer-related image (sun, flip-flops, sunglasses, umbrella, starfish, tulip, inner tube, juice, bee, pineapple, ladybug, coconut drink, ice cream, watermelon, popsicle, dragonfly, beach ball, leaf, caterpillar, orange slice, butterfly, flower) and a corresponding number from 1 to 24. The instructions suggest cutting the squares apart and using them as calling cards.
Grade Level Suitability:
This worksheet is suitable for Preschool, Kindergarten, and early elementary grades (1st and 2nd). The simple images and number recognition make it appropriate for younger children, while older children can use it for number recognition and listening skills.
Why Use It:
This calling mat helps develop visual discrimination, number recognition, listening skills, and turn-taking. It provides a fun and engaging way to reinforce these skills in a summer-themed activity. It also promotes social interaction and cooperative play.
How to Use It:
First, cut out each of the squares along the lines. Place the cut-out squares into a bowl. One person acts as the 'caller' and draws a square from the bowl, calling out the image or number. Players mark the corresponding image on their bingo cards (not shown in this image, but implied). The first player to get bingo wins.
Target Users:
This worksheet is ideal for preschool teachers, kindergarten teachers, early elementary teachers, parents, homeschoolers, and anyone looking for a fun and educational summer-themed activity for young children.
