Description
What It Is:
This is an addition practice worksheet. The worksheet uses images of hands displaying fingers to represent numbers in addition problems. There are six addition problems presented, such as 1 + 5, 4 + 5, 3 + 1, 4 + 3, 2 + 4, 3 + 3, 4 + 4 and 5 + 5. Each problem has an empty square for the student to write the answer. The worksheet title is 'Practice ADDITION' and also includes the Spanish phrase 'Suma usando tus dedos' which translates to 'Add using your fingers'. Two hand drawings are at the top of the worksheet.
Grade Level Suitability:
This worksheet is most suitable for Kindergarten and first grade. The simple addition problems and use of visual aids (fingers) make it appropriate for students just learning to add.
Why Use It:
This worksheet helps students practice basic addition skills using a visual method. The finger representations provide a concrete way for young learners to understand the concept of adding numbers. It reinforces number recognition and the meaning of the plus sign and equal sign.
How to Use It:
Students should count the number of fingers displayed on each hand in the addition problem. Then, they should add those two numbers together and write the sum in the empty square provided. Encourage students to use their own fingers to help them count if needed.
Target Users:
This worksheet is designed for young students in Kindergarten and first grade who are learning basic addition skills. It's also beneficial for students who learn best with visual aids and hands-on activities.
