Information
Description
What It Is:
This is a bingo worksheet themed around Women's History Month and female musicians. The bingo cards feature squares with the names of female artists and songs associated with them, such as 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston', 'La Vida Es Un Carnaval by Celia Cruz', 'Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks', 'Como La Flor by Selena', 'Conga! by Gloria Estefan', 'The Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani', and 'Hold On by Alabama Shakes'. There are two bingo cards shown, each with a different arrangement of the squares.
Grade Level Suitability:
Grades 4-12. The content is appropriate for upper elementary, middle, and high school students. The complexity of the names and songs might be challenging for younger students, while older students can appreciate the cultural and historical context.
Why Use It:
This worksheet is a fun and engaging way to celebrate Women's History Month and introduce students to influential female musicians. It promotes listening skills, name recognition, and can spark discussions about music history, different genres, and the impact of women in music.
How to Use It:
Distribute the bingo cards to students. The teacher or a designated student calls out names of female musicians or song titles. Students mark the corresponding squares on their cards. The first student to achieve bingo (a row, column, or diagonal) wins.
Target Users:
Elementary, middle, and high school students studying music, history, or participating in Women's History Month activities. Educators looking for interactive and engaging classroom activities. Homeschooling families.
