Has your child learned all his sight words? Sight words are common words that are difficult to sound out and are often best learned through memorization. If memorizing a laundry list of words doesn't sound appealing to your first grader, make the task fun with colorful sight word flash cards. All you have to do is cut them out and tape them up around the house where your child will see them.
